Urban Vision – Bedminster Questionnaire

Many people in BS3 say they want to make their streets better and improve the walkability of their local area. We have created a survey to capture data from residents. The survey takes just five minutes to complete and has been developed in collaboration between BS3 Community Development, Bedminster Over 55’s Social Group and the University of Bristol.

This survey tries to understand how people perceive their local area at the moment and whether changes to the local area in the last few years have improved walkability. The project is called “URBAN VISION – Understanding the impact of visual environments of cities on physical and mental well-being”

Based on findings from this survey we will focus on issues that are highlighted, challenge the council and discuss with the community ways of improving areas.

Please take a moment to fill in the survey, which can be downloaded here.

Please return electronic copies to Ruth Green via email, or drop paper copies to the Southville Centre.

Paper copies are also available to collect from the Southville Centre.

Thank you.

Become a volunteer

Volunteering can be a great way to make new friends, get involved in your community and learn new skills. Your time is hugely valuable to us. We have opportunities for you to get involved with our older people’s services, fundraising, gardening, and community events.

Current Volunteering Opportunities with BS3 Community

Are you available on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon? We are looking for volunteers for the below two community activities we run at the Southville Centre.

  • Sporting Memories is a friendly informal group who meet up to share memories of watching and playing sport, we are looking for volunteers who can stimulate the conversation and encourage others to join in as well as helping to recruit more members to the group.
  • The Dementia Support Group offers people a chance to meet with others affected by living with dementia or those caring for someone with the condition. If you have experience of engaging with people living with dementia that would be an advantage but not essential.
