National Lottery Community Fund

We are celebrating being awarded generous funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to support our work with the Monday Club for Older People. The Monday Club, based at the Southville Centre will use the money to enrich the experience of it’s club members.

The group which runs once a week and is attended by up to 30 local residents, includes hot drinks, an activity each week plus a two course meal available for just £5. It’s a great way for older people to connect, share, talk and aims to help combat isolation.

The new funding from the The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest community funder in the UK, will mean we can continue to support this group and be able to offer more trips and activities for the members.

National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. Thanks to them, last year (2023/24) The National Lottery Community Fund awarded over half a billion pounds (£686.3 million) of life-changing funding to communities across the UK, supporting over 13,700 projects to turn their ideas into reality. We want to say a big thank you to all our donors. The gift of giving feels so significant right now and the impacts donations have for the people using our services is huge. We are so grateful for donations from local businesses such as Barratt Homes, Baileys of Bristol and Redcliffe Parish, to name a few.

We have also received donations from local people’s energy rebates, so to support others in the community this winter. Donations to BS3 Community Development enable the crucial work we do, directly impacting the community, supporting children with SEND needs to thrive in our care, or giving families access to food and medicines.
