Chessel Centre Updates – Summer 2024

The Chessel Centre have set up their very own garden committee, headed up by Emma from Family Services. Together with Abbey and Charlotte, we are currently in the planning stages of developing the garden space. Some of the key ideas being discussed are:

• Developing a herb wall as sensory space for the children to explore.
• Finding ways to bring colour, depth and light into the space with the use of mirrors and potentially a large mural.
• Looking for ways to maximise space for the children to get the most out of the garden. Ideally, we will create a flexible set-up that enables staff to reimagine the space depending on the needs and learning of the children in their care. We are also keen to provide our children with opportunities for more open ended, loose parts play.
