BS3 Community Development is an independent charity-run nursery working across two sites in Southville and Bedminster: the Southville Centre and the Chessel Centre. Our charity aims to improve the lives and well-being of people who live and work within the BS3 postcode and we are looking for our newest team member to help us achieve this goal.
We are looking for…
We are looking for a practitioner qualified to Level 3 or above, who is passionate about supporting children as they take their first steps into the world. You will be interested in their individual development, supportive of their needs and excited to inspire awe and wonder into each day that they spend with us at nursery.
Working predominantly with children aged two to three years, you will be passionate about providing our nursery friends with a secure, warm and caring environment. You will see the potential in all the children in our care and will work closely with our team to create interesting opportunities for each child to develop and shine. We are looking for someone who can bring new concepts, ideas and passion to their work, helping to support the Lead Practitioner in leading and developing the team. Our team is structured to give our Senior Practitioners some line management experience and is an excellent opportunity to step into a more managerial role within Early Years.
Whilst this is a full-time position, we are committed to supporting healthy life-work balance for our team and can be flexible for the right person. We support working parents, part time students and individuals with Carer’s responsibility.

We understand how important your job as a Senior Early Years Practitioner is and the difference that you make to each child in your care, and we are passionate about providing you with space and support to develop and grow in your career.
We want to add value to our children’s experiences with us, but also our staff’s development, and are involved in the Bristol Standard, the Ambitious Two Year Olds Project and the Bristol City Council Refugees Project. Internally, we invite staff to participate in special interest action groups, including our Garden and Outdoor Learning Committee and our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging group. We provide each team member with a mentor, to support their mental health, as well as a supervisor for career development and are always looking for ways to enhance our holistic approach to working for the charity. We are excited to hear your thoughts on these, and many other, exciting projects that enhance our practice and develop how we care for and educate the children in our care.
Hours: 24 hours per week (all year round)
Rate of Pay: £13,577.26 per annum (£10.85 per hour) (term time only)

Required qualification: Full and recognised Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or above)
