The Summer holidays are here, and so is the need for fun and low cost activities to keep your mini humans entertained. We’ve rounded up the best that BS3 and beyond has to offer to take one job straight off your to do list – you’re welcome!
Activities at BS3 Community Development
We have plenty of low cost, fun activities lined up here at BS3 Community Development. Our Southville Treasure Trail is back for a bargain £2 and it promises to keep your little ones busy around BS3 for a few hours. We also have our weekly
Gromit Unleashed 3 – 30th June to 31st August
We’ve gone Gromit mad here, and if you’ve not got in on the fun yet then now is the time. The trail will be live until the end of August, so you’ve still got time to to put on your adventure hats and get searching.

Did you know that one our our little ones has a very talented Mummy? Laurie Stansfield painted the ‘Big Friendly Wallace’ that can be seen at The New Inn, Blagdon. We’d love to see any photos you take with him – or the other sculptures, tag us on Instagram #BS3CommunityShares and keep an eye out for more Wallace & Gromit content coming soon!
Here are our mini artists making their own Gromit designs for our BS3 mini trail. Aren’t they the cutest?
Free fun things to do beyond BS3
We are blessed to live in a vibrant city with so much on offer for all ages. Here are some free ideas for family fun in and around Bristol:
- Take a slide down Clifton’s natural rock slide (not for the faint hearted – it’s really, really fast!)
- Enjoy breath-taking views at the top of Cabot Tower on Brandon Hill
- Stroll around our beautiful harbour – pop into the M Shed for more freebie fun, or watch the boats come and go in Underfall Yard
- Climb some trees and ride your bikes in Ashton Court (you might even be lucky enough to see a hot air balloon take off!)
- Hunt for fairy doors and enjoy the gothic vibe at Arnos Vale Cemetery
- Build a den and stroll under a canopy of trees in Leigh Woods
Remember to pick up a picnic from our Community Café at the Southville Centre before you go off on your adventures!
