Kindness is one of our top values at BS3 Nurseries, and so we couldn’t think of a better focus for the whole month of February than spreading some love and sweetness!
Random Acts of Kindness
This year, Random Acts of Kindness Day fell on 17 February, and we decided that it was the perfect excuse to spread the love across the whole month. Our Chessel Centre children have been very busy getting involved with lots of creative activities that supported them to consider others and take care of themselves (very important in our book).
We are all lifted up by art and so the Chessels children made sure that kindness was at the front of everyone’s minds with wonderful kindness window displays in our Centre. They made handprints to add to The Kindness Rainbow, and decorated leaves to add to The Kindness Tree. Their grown up friends then added quotes from the children, who were encouraged to think of how they had been kind recently.
Later in the month, a group of our little friends loaded their pockets with handmade kindness gifts, and headed out into the local community to spread some hard core happiness! We had a lovely time wandering around North Street, delivering little gifts of joy, waves and smiles to all our lovely BS3 friends and neighbours.
We had such a blast brightening everyone’s day that we might just make this a regular BS3 tradition. It certainly made us cheery to see so many smiling faces!
Self Care in The Stackpool Spa
In life, and especially with children, we often emphasise ‘being kind to others’, which, of course, we agree with! But we also believe it’s important to teach our little ones how to be kind to themselves. We always encourage them to be aware of their feelings and to figure out what they need to feel more balanced or calm. Naturally, we were delighted when the Stackpool Room team put this into practice in their very own Stackpool Room Spa!

The team transformed the creative room into a sanctuary of calming music and soothing stations. The children independently removed shoes and socks before exploring a cosy “cucumber eye-mask” corner, a refreshing foot-dip tray, and a sensory station with warm and cold flannels.
The children practised calming regulation techniques together, including gentle yoga and deep breathing. It was wonderful to hear the children make links to The Colour Monster, with many identifying with “the green monster” because they felt so calm. It was a beautiful display of independence and emotional awareness as they learned the vital skill of slowing down their busy bodies. We are super proud of them.
Valentines Day
As always, our little ones delivered the cuteness factor for their loved ones with an array of creative crafting:
Our February was fabulous! From North Street smiles to moments of quiet reflection, it’s been a month full of love. We’re so proud of how our children are learning to nurture both their community and their own well-being. Keep an eye out – you might see us soon on our next kindness excursion.
