We’re delighted that local artist Poppy Victoria May has chosen to support BS3 Community Development through her latest exhibition, taking place at KASK Wine Bar on North Street throughout February.
The exhibition is a vibrant celebration of Bedminster’s independent business community, showcasing Poppy’s intricate watercolour paintings of iconic local pubs, cafés, restaurants and shops. Known for bringing Bristol’s much‑loved buildings to life, Poppy’s work is a heartfelt love letter to the city and its fiercely independent spirit, with this latest series focusing on a neighbourhood close to her heart.
Exhibition Launch: 5th February, from 5pm
The exhibition opens with a special launch evening on Wednesday 5 February from 5pm, and everyone is warmly invited. Visitors can enjoy an evening of art, wine and community, with:
- Original paintings, prints and merchandise for sale
- Drinks discounts and food.
- A raffle with prizes including Poppy’s artwork and contributions from local businesses
- The chance to meet the artist and support a local cause
Supporting BS3 Community Development
As part of the exhibition, Poppy will be raising money for BS3 Community Development, all of which will help support our mission to improving wellbeing, health and connection across the BS3 area.
From food clubs and community cupboards, to outreach for people who need extra support, and groups that help tackle loneliness and isolation, everything we do is about looking after our community. We’re incredibly grateful to Poppy for choosing to support this work through her art.
About the Artist
Poppy Victoria May is a self‑taught artist whose previous career as a journalist took her to New York, Florence and Edinburgh, cities that inspired her love of architectural painting before she settled in Bristol. Following successful Stokes Croft and Clifton‑themed exhibitions, this Bedminster showcase continues her tradition of hosting exhibitions inside the very businesses she paints.
For Bedminster’s turn, that venue is KASK, a much‑loved neighbourhood wine bar and the perfect setting for an exhibition celebrating local independents.
