The Leighton Room has space for up to 24 children aged 2 – 3, all year round. This room has big windows making it light and airy, yet still has a snug and cosy feel to it. The room has a wide range of resources for the children to play with, including sensory play, all set out at child level. The children will experience a fun and enjoyable time here in the Leighton Room, with a flexible routine that focuses on what the children need and want.
See what the Leighton Room have been up to this month:
This month in Leighton room we decided to make our own Pudsey Bears! Using the bingo dabbers we all used our fine motor skills to make lots of spots all over the Pudsey’s. We also had our tough tray full of yellow rice, different coloured feathers and small Pudsey Bears. The children loved exploring the texture of the rice and used the spoons to scoop it up as well. Some even enjoyed feeding the rice to Pudsey. We also celebrated the ‘Festival of light’ making lots of beautiful pictures and tea light holders.
This month the Leighton Room have been interested in self care activities. We have been doing activities around teeth brushing and bathing dolls.
