The Beauley room holds up to 15 of our youngest children aged 1-2. The Beauley Room has a welcoming and homely feel. There are plenty of communication friendly spaces where children can feel safe and secure. These spaces can be used for exploring, playing as well as interactions with practitioners and friends.
See what the Beauley Room have been up to:
The Beauley room have been having lots of fun the past couple of weeks, celebrating Easter and Ramadan! We have been learning Makaton by signing “Happy Ramadan” and we’ve been on lots of Easter egg hunts in the room searching for some yummy chocolate eggs!
We created a beach with shaving foam and sand in the activity tray. The children had so much fun exploring the different textures and small world play. They have also enjoyed painting their feet and making foot prints on the paper.
We have been having lots of fun in the Beauley room exploring new celebrations, such as St Patrick day and Sign Language Week. The children enjoyed learning BSL with Ambreen, and reading Dear Zoo. They also had lots of fun painting with apples for St Patrick day to make prints, and green play dough.
We’ve been really enjoying being outdoors and exploring the garden fort – the children enjoy playing hide and seek and having their own communication friendly space in the garden. We think its particularly important that this is an interesting sensory experience for our children, with lots of things to touch, hear, smell and see. We’ve also been enjoying role play and exploring the home corner this week – particularly loving the doctors kit, we love the sounds the machine makes and dressing up!
