We held our very first open day and fundraiser on Friday 27th June and what a fantastic success it was! A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support us.
Visitors had the chance to explore the Southville Centre and learn more about the Chessel Centre, getting a real feel for the welcoming spaces, services and activities we offer.
The day was filled with fun for all ages including food and drink, a children’s play area with toys and activities, music, face painting by @Bristolartjunkie Adele and a vibrant community atmosphere. A big thank you to DJ Kate Bosh, and to @thegalleyvanting who were selling their delicious burgers and hotdogs.
We showcased our rooms for hire and shared information about the range of support services we offer, including social groups to help reduce loneliness, food clubs and digital support. Visitors could also learn more about the regular classes that take place at both centres.
Our BS3 Community Café was open throughout the day serving snacks, cold drinks, speciality coffees, alcohol and ice lollies. A huge thank you to @bristolbeerfactory for their support.
We also launched our brand new survey Your Voice in Your Community. This is a great opportunity for residents to let us know what they’d like to see from BS3 Community. By sharing your thoughts, you’ll help us shape our centres and services to better support our community.
Any money raised from this fundraising event will help fund projects providing food, friendship and support to the BS3 area, so thank you once again to everyone that came along and enjoyed the day.
We are proud to be at the heart of the community and we look forward to seeing you soon!
